We have added a moral system that will greatly affect your squads' fighting ability. Squads with low morale will have lower accuracy, speed and can desert easily when under fire. Morale can be influenced by many factors, for example, it will decrease when comrades die and will increase when enemies are killed. You don't need to kill all enemies to win, you can find ways to cripple their morale until they surrender.
